Tabu and Mijo are a pair of all-black neutered males who desperately need a new home since their guardian can no longer care for them. Both cats are in Pacific Grove, but time is of the essence to find them a permanent home. Their guardian Theresa is willing to provide food, litter and any required medicines to support these cats.
Tabu is an approximately 13 or 14-year-old Oriental Shorthair. Mijo (which means “darling” in Spanish) is 11 years old.
Tabu is usually shy at first, but after a few hours, he will nuzzle and be very friendly. He is very sweet and would love a home with someone who likes to lie around much of the day. He sleeps on top of his temporary caretaker at night. Tabu has been with both large and small dogs with no issues. His kidneys are starting to decline, which is not surprising since this often is the case with older cats.
Mijo is a kitty who loves everyone. His eyesight is declining and at his most recent vet visit it was discovered he has high blood pressure and that’s most likely what is causing this. He takes blood pressure medication now, which costs about $6 for a 3-month supply. He also eats special food if it’s available. Mijo has had a complete dental done recently.
Mijo is a big boy at 14 pounds, has velvet-soft fur, and LOVES to be brushed. He is quite docile and gets along with other pets, children, and all humans. He adapts to new places, moved furniture, etc. He is curious and not afraid to learn his territory.
Both cats are indoors only, use the litter box, and are neat and tidy. They are bonded so a permanent placement together would be ideal.
