Foster Application

At Golden Oldies, fosters are the true heroes of our work. Without the love and commitment of foster homes, we wouldn’t be able to save the lives of countless cats in need. As a 100% foster-based organization, our ability to rescue cats directly depends on the number of foster families we have. Every foster home means another life saved!
 
Fosters must be at least 18 years of age and live within a 45-minute drive of the Monterey Peninsula where our veterinary partners and resource support are located.

What We Provide:
Golden Oldies takes care of all approved medical expenses for our foster cats, ensuring they receive the care they need. We also supply essentials like food, litter, beds, toys, and crates, so you can focus on providing a loving home environment.

Flexible Commitment:
There’s no set timeline for fostering—each cat stays until we find their perfect forever home. While the average time from foster to adoption is approximately 45 days, this can vary greatly depending on the individual cat’s needs. Whether it’s shorter or longer, your patience and care make all the difference.

What We Ask of You:

All we ask is that you provide a safe, secure, and loving environment for your foster cat(s)—indoors only, please! Ensure they have fresh food, water, and a clean litter box, and the rest is all about sharing your love and compassion.
