REST IN PEACE, TIMMY
July 3, 2008 – June 2, 2022
Timmy Howard died today. We adopted him 18 months ago, at the age of 13 years old. Timmy was the gentlest and sweetest cat that I ever had.
Timmy was special. I knew that he was mine the minute I saw his picture on the Golden Oldies website. Laurence wanted Sabrina, and we tried with her for three months. She did not adapt to our home. We tried and tried with Sabrina, who we re-named Midnight. When we returned Sabrina/Midnight, I told Laurence that Timmy was going to be ours. He was still there on the Golden Oldies website. He was meant to be mine.
He was the love of my life. Unfortunately, he developed liver failure. He stopped eating and drinking, and we took him to the emergency room six days before he died. Four days before Timmy died, the vet called with test results. Timmy’s liver was too compromised.
We decided to have him put to sleep. We had a vet come to the house because we refused to put him through more trauma by putting him in a carrier and taking him to the vet. He received all the love and care we could give him.
We held him and comforted him until the end.
He died peacefully in my arms.
I am brokenhearted. Timmy taught me what forgiveness meant. He taught me to be more patient and kind.
Thank you, Golden Oldies for letting us be Timmy’s parents for 18 months.
It was quite painful to say goodbye to him.
I will always love you, Timmy.
Thank you for everything.
