As the first successful match in our Seniors Saving Seniors program, this adoption holds a special place in our hearts. We embarked on a journey to create heartfelt connections between cats 12 and older and humans 65 and older and now we can celebrate this beautiful union.
Sweet 13-year-old Chloe and her wonderful 96-year-old human, Jan, are all set to create lasting memories together. With the commencement of Jan’s retirement, she now has Chloe’s gentle purrs and comforting presence to keep her company. We imagine many cozy naps, quiet comfort, and shared moments of love in their future.
This isn’t just an adoption, it’s a testament to the timeless nature of love, connection, and companionship that transcends age. Here’s to Chloe and Jan’s new beginning, the first of many to come in our Seniors Saving Seniors program.
Remember, it’s never too late to find a friend, and love truly knows no age.
Older cats risk euthanasia when they lose their homes; older humans can become lonely and depressed as they age. Our senior cats, who desperately need loving, forever homes, provide affection, company, entertainment, and a sense of responsibility and purpose for seniors. Their calmer demeanor makes them perfect matches for senior guardians.
Seniors Saving Seniors clears the way for older adults to adopt a Golden Oldies Cat.
We will universally waive adoption fees for anyone 65/+ who adopts a cat 12/+ from us. And since the cost of veterinary care can be a major impediment to adoption for seniors, we will also cover costs associated with wellness exams, diagnostics, and emergency care.
Having a cat companion can make a person feel needed and connected. And for an older unhomed cat, finding a loving guardian can literally save its life.
