REST IN PEACE, JAKE
All of us at Golden Oldies Cat Rescue are mourning the loss of 9-year-old Jake, a sweet and sensitive gentleman of a cat who died unexpectedly on Monday, November 25 at his foster home from a previously undiagnosed lung tumor.
Jake, with his white toes and endearing personality, was with us for five weeks. He and his brother Max came to Golden Oldies when their person died with no plans in place for the two brothers.
Jake was shy with strangers, but once he got used to you, he would come when called and contentedly purr when receiving pets.
Jake’s foster dad, John, says Jake was his usual self on Sunday, chasing the laser pointer’s red dot and “just being Jake.”
Jake’s death was sudden on Monday morning. No warning. No behavior change. He simply pulled open the closet door, went inside, and died.
“My attention is now directed at poor Max,” John says. “He’s lost his former home, his former human caregiver, and now his brother.”
Rest easy, sweet Jake and although your time was short with us, know that you were loved.
Safe travels across the Rainbow Bridge, Jake.
