Just in time to help celebrate GOCR’s fifth anniversary of helping older cats find new beginnings, we have just finalized our 100th adoption!
We couldn’t be more happy for Lucy B and her new mom. Sweet, petite, 14 year old Lucy B made her most recent foster home her forever home, officially. It took Lucy a little time to feel safe after the sudden loss of her former owner and two interim foster homes. She proved that she is a resilient little spirit and eventually started showing her new mom her sweet and loving personality. Venturing out more and more each day, trusting again. Letting her head and ears be scratched and allowing petting below her collar, which she had not done before.
Her new mom lives and works from home. She had been missing the companionship of a cat and thoughtfully decided that sharing her home and life with Lucy felt like the right thing to do, just the two of them, making the most of each day as it comes.
Lucy has many floor to ceiling windows, to take in either the ocean view or the forest view in a quiet and peaceful setting. A recent update from her new mom: ‘Princess’ Lucy has made herself at home, finds patches of sunlight wherever they happen to be, and curls up on my lap to watch TV. What a joy!
Another happy new beginning.
