Doris Heidingsfelder is originally from Germany and came to the United States to work. She fell in love with the Bay Area and Silicon Valley. She was hired by Siemens after college and has been in the technology field ever since. She is currently an executive at a software company where she leads a team of project managers in product implementations for customers.
Doris grew up with cats, fish, and birds, and has always had a huge heart for animals. She discovered Golden Oldies Cat Rescue in 2018 after her cat, Diva, who was with her for 15 years, passed away. In Diva’s memory, Doris decided to volunteer as a foster parent for Golden Oldies. She fostered and then adopted Karma, who was 17 years old when she entered Doris’ life, and died in 2020 at almost 20. After Karma died, William, a 3-legged American Bobtail, found a forever home with Doris, where he is now the king of the castle.
In her spare time, Doris enjoys working out on the bike, hiking, or doing strength training. She loves to explore the various vineyards in the Santa Cruz area with her partner, Anil. She also enjoys vacationing in Germany to visit family.
