Cindy and her husband, Vic, both retired, moved to the Monterey Peninsula in 2013, an area they have always loved.
Since rescuing her first cat from the streets many years ago, Cindy’s love for and commitment to rescue cats grew, and Golden Oldies presented the best opportunity for her to honor this.
Cindy began volunteering for Golden Oldies in August 2016 – just two months after the organization formed! And she has been with Golden Oldies ever since.
Cindy has handled many responsibilities for Golden Oldies, including serving as an Events Coordinator, on the Board of Directors and on the Advisory Committee to the Executive Director.
Cindy became Board President in April 2023. She also is responsible for monitoring donation boxes at several locations in the community and works information tables.
Cindy wore many hats during her career. She was an office manager and building manager in local government, was a research and support assistant for forensic accountants and attorneys and spent eight years working at Los Gatos Dog and Cat Hospital.
She and Vic do not have cats anymore, but for 30 years they were an integral part of their lives. These were mostly street or feral cats who came for a visit and never left, a testament to Cindy’s big heart.
