What happens when a dog rescue and a cat rescue work together? Great things happen, of course!
Peace of Mind Dog Rescue sent out an email plea to its volunteers about one of its Helping Paw clients who had a major stroke and needed to move into assisted living with her Guide Dog, Pine. Sadly, her beloved 10-yer-old cat, Sunny, a beautiful orange tabby who loves to snuggle, could not go with her. Sunny had lived with her guardian in the famous Butterfly House in Pacific Grove.
Golden Oldies Cat Rescue reached out to Peace of Mind since we had open foster homes. A Peace of Mind volunteer had expressed interest in adopting Sunny after receiving the email plea and it was decided she would adopt through Golden Oldies so Sunny had the safety net of a safe place to return to should her new adopter no longer be able to care for her. Golden Oldies always takes its adopted cats back!
Because the deadline for placement was less than a week away, a rush was put on getting Sunny up to date on her medical screenings and vaccines. Thank you, Peace of Mind, for doing Sunny’s medical exam and tests at your vet clinic!
Sunny was deemed healthy and went to her adopted home!
Happy Tails, Sunny and Joanna!
