Sophie is a 13-year-old Ragdoll with electric blue eyes. Quite the beauty. She is bonded with Sadie so they need to be adopted together. See separate posting for Sadie.
Her guardian moved recently and surrendered Sophie to a local shelter. Luckily for Sophie, a good Samaritan picked her up within a couple of days and took her to a vet clinic for medical care and boarding. Then contacted Golden Oldies Cat Rescue for help. Sophie was dehydrated, stressed, and too thin.
Currently, Sophie is gaining weight gradually and no longer dehydrated. She has presumed IBD and is taking medication once daily to manage it. If this needs to be continued, the approximate cost of the medication would be $25/month, or less if purchased in greater quantity.
The most important thing now is to get Sophie OUT of boarding and IN to a real home where she can relax and get some loving attention. She’s a sweet, friendly, curious kitty. She’ll let you pet her within a few minutes of meeting her and she’s observant of what people are doing. Sophie has a soft purr and gorgeous coloring. You just can’t help but love her furry face. She loves to burrow under the covers and snuggle in bed with her person at night. She is an indoor-only girl who is normally well-adjusted, happy and affectionate.
She’s been around children, small dogs and other cats and done fine. She’s playful, especially with a fishing pole toy, and although she may retreat at first when a stranger comes into the room she’ll quickly re-appear and warm up.
