Scout is a 6 ½-year-old, 13-pound tuxedo girl who is very shy but extremely sweet.
She is in a Golden Oldies foster home in Corralitos, CA.
An indoor-only cat who is easily frightened, Scout needs a quiet home without dogs, children or loud noises.
After a few days in foster care, her foster mom says:
“She is very loving. I think she will be okay in a home that isn’t too busy — but people are fine. She hides under the bed when I come in. I go to where she is hiding, slide the bed back, and pick her up and she so wants to be held. Scout is VERY sweet. Not an ounce of mean in her. Just scared. We sit on the bed and I rub her chin and she rubs all over me. She purrs now! But she is shy.
“So wherever she ends up, she will need a good amount of time, a safe quiet place to be, like a bathroom where she can’t hide under things too much. Just at first. Once she knows you, she is good. The pupils are a give away if she is too scared. She dilates like crazy and when she relaxes, she has the most beautiful eyes. I laid with her last night and my mom came upstairs so I asked her to come in and meet her. Scout tensed up, but then laid with me, and my mom quietly approached. She let her pet her and was quiet, but then when she realized I wasn’t upset and that the nice lady was petting her, she got up and walked over to my mom on the bed and rubbed on her. She is a normal kitty, just really shy.”
All Golden Oldies cats are spayed, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative and have had a complete blood panel done.
