RUBY IS TRULY A LITTLE GEM!
Why seek gold or diamonds or other gems when you can have a RUBY? That is exactly what her new forever Mom thought!
Ruby (now called Miss “Miaou”) is a 9-pound tabby. She came to Golden Oldies from the Salinas Animal Shelter, where she came in as a stray.
Now she will be spending the rest of a wonderful life in Saratoga Springs, New York! Her new mom, has renamed the talkative girl Miss “Miaou”. Although pronounced “Me-You” in french, it seems “Me-Ow” is what is going to stick. After settling in back at home, Miaou’s new mom wrote us …
“Bonjour,
Miss Miaou is now settled in her new Saratoga Springs home! I’ve named her “Miaou”, the perfect name for Ruby who loves to talk and was born on Bastille Day, July 14th, France’s equivalent of our fourth of July!
She weathered the long, long journey from Monterey to Saratoga Springs like a trooper, and the minute she set paws inside the house she seemed to know that this was home. We limited her space, letting her explore more of the house everyday. Now she thinks she owns it! She’s completely comfortable and has explored behind every closed door. In the last two days she has begun to play, zooming around and tackling her mouse. We had company on Saturday afternoon and Miss Miaou came out into the sunroom to say her hello’s and then went to take a nap. She’s a lovely cat and I’m so happy I decided to adopt her. Her first family must have given her lots of attention and love for her to be as self-posessed and calm as she is in her new surrounding. She sits on my lap when I have my early morning tea and tries to convince me she is starving before it’s time for her dinner. And, she sits quietly near me when I meditate. Her only concern is all the white stuff on the ground outside! She’s mystified! (It’s snow!).My thanks and appreciation to you all for the work you do to find homes for aging cats.
