Rooster is a short-haired calico whose owner, regretfully, has to rehome her due to her special needs. Since she is a rescue, we do not know her exact age, but put her to be around 7-10 years old. In 2022, she was diagnosed with diabetes and now follows a treatment plan that keeps her happy and healthy. She is living in Seaside, CA. There is no deadline for placement, as we are adamant that she be placed in a home that can meet the demands of having a special needs companion.
Rooster was rescued as a stray by her current owner in 2019. We think she had a previous owner given her excellent social skills and lack of fear of humans and small animals. She is a loving cat who enjoys cuddles, a place by the window to watch the wildlife, and a secluded hideaway where she can nap.
Rooster is mainly an indoor cat, but from time to time, she enjoys sunbathing on the patio of her current residence. She gets along very well with small dogs. We do not know how she does with children or other cats since there aren’t any in her current household. However, given her mellow personality and easy-going nature, we think that she would do okay.
Rooster’s current treatment regimen is two insulin shots daily and a wet food-only diet. She is a bit food-obsessive and may meow quite a bit around meal time, prior to feeding. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.
It is never easy to part with family, but it is time to find a home for her that would better suit her needs and overall health. We only want what is best for her.
