Hi, my name is Missy. I’m a 12-year-old, 12-pound sweetie who is looking for my new best friend. I’m a Calico, and Calicos are just really cool cats!
My former owners dropped me off at San Jose Animal Care Services on February 5th, because they no longer wanted me. They dropped me off to be euthanized.
The shelter staff kept extending my stay, hoping a rescue would take me. When no one stepped forward by February 11th, I was moved to “URGENT” (in need of rescue) by February 15th. My last extension – to February 22nd – was listed as “VERY URGENT.” That’s when the good people at Golden Oldies Cat Rescue swooped me up.
Now I am in a loving foster home. I am so relieved, because now I have a second chance at a new beginning! Here’s what my foster has to say about me:
“Missy is about the sweetest, most loving, and needy for attention, cat that I’ve ever had. She follows me everywhere and purrs, purrs, purrs. She’s eating and using the litter box and is negotiating house rule with Muffin. I can pet her all over and brushed her this morning. She went out on the patio this morning and explored all around. She’s a happy cat! I think she knows she’s been saved.”
I am very affectionate and love being petted and would prefer not to share that affection with other cats. Cheek rubs make me purr! I have some arthritis in my spine and am overweight, so I need to go on a diet to ease the stress on my joints.
I may need some dental care and San Jose Animal Care Services is providing $500.00 toward that care, through their Guardian Angel Program! How cool is that?
All Golden Oldies cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative and have had a complete blood panel done.
If you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application.
