URGENT HELP NEEDED
Josie is a 6-year-old spayed Calico, with soft, medium-long fur who is extremely loving and affectionate. She lives in Monterey, California.
She had her medical done January 17th. She is up to date on all her vaccines, micro-chipped, and has had a complete senior blood panel done.
However, she is FELV positive and Golden Oldies cannot take her.
She needs to find an INDOOR-ONLY HOME, WHERE SHE IS THE ONLY CAT.
This is extremely urgent. Her guardians are moving at the end of February.
Josie has NO OPTIONS at this point – Local shelters do not accept FELV-positive cats.
Can you save her life? It is very important that she be kept indoors and not be around other cats.
Josie likes her daily lap time and will reward you with lots and lots of purring and maybe some kisses. She loves crinkly toys and sunbathing. She is very playful and cuddly, and prefers to have humans around most of the time.
She would love to spend the rest of her life with someone who works from home, and can be around to give her all the attention she wants (on her terms, of course).
If you would like to meet Josie, please call Linda Lewis at 650/906-9150.
Footnote:
FELV is transmitted through casual contact – saliva, etc. But, just because a cat has FELV does not mean they will die of the disease. They can, however, be susceptible to getting ‘other’ diseases.
Cats with FELV can live long lives. It is only our desire to not have it spread to other cats, since it’s transmitted through casual contact.
If Josie is introduced to an ‘older’ cat (less susceptible to getting the disease), and the other cat is vaccinated, things will PROBABLY be okay, but there is NO GUARANTEE. Vaccines are not 100%, so there is always a risk.
