This is the story of a small, resilient cat named Joseph, and a family that loved him dearly.
It all began on the streets of Pacific Grove, where Joseph, a tiny kitten, was found and brought into the vet clinic where my uncle’s girlfriend and I were working.
His cute face and gentle purr were so precious and captivating that my uncle fell in love on the spot and adopted him right away.
For most of his life, Joseph had the companionship of two other cats, sharing a home full of warmth and affection until they recently passed away of old age. He’s been a constant presence through so many changes, even moving all the way to Oregon for about five years before returning to Monterey.
Now, at the age of 18, Joseph is facing another big change. My uncle has to move back to France for medical reasons, and with an eleven-hour flight ahead, he’s heartbreakingly unsure if Joseph, at his age, would make it through the journey.
It’s an incredibly difficult decision, but his top priority is finding a loving home for the remainder of Joseph’s days.
Joseph is the sweetest cat you’ll ever meet, and his family loves him more than words can say. We’re hoping to find a kind soul who can offer him a peaceful and loving place to spend his golden years.
