Cotton is a male, 15-year-old, short-haired, snow-white cat. Current owner is seeking rehoming due to new children in the family having strong allergies to Cotton, causing this loving cat to live an increasingly separated life from the family.
Cotton is a cat lover’s cat. Outgoing and quick friends with everyone he meets, he loves being around people. For some years he lived next to a golf course, and could be found regularly visiting with and cajoling scratches from any golfers who came near the fence.
He even occasionally tags along on short neighborhood walks with his family, following a few feet back, exploring where the family stops, then following the family back home. He is easy to please, seeming completely satisfied with no more than chin scratches, companionship, and the occasional nap in the sun.
Cotton is good with children, tolerating being picked up, brushed, and petted by inexperienced hands with admirable patience and love. He also got along swimmingly with two dogs, a golden retriever and a labrador, who have since passed. He has not lived with another cat in recent years, and it is unknown if he did with a previous owner.
Cotton comes from outside the US, and was homed with local neighbors after the foreign owners could not return to their native country with him. He is neutered and up-to-date on his rabies vaccine. Weight is 14 pounds. No known medical issues. Unknown if microchipped.
He spent most of his life as an indoor/outdoor cat. In recent years he has been mostly indoors for his safety (he has little fear, sees the world as his friend, and may make an easy meal for a predator), but is let outside midday for his beloved outdoor nap. He is located in Carmel.
