My name is Biggy and I am quite a handsome guy, if I do say so myself. Add to that my easy going nature and my good manners and you have yourself a wonderful cat.
Golden Oldies brought me in from San Jose Animal Care Services because I wasn’t being adopted. I think I scared people because they thought I was too old (I’m a mature 17 years old), or too big. At that time I weighed 21 pounds, but my foster is helping me with a weight loss plan, and now I’m down to 16.3 pounds. And I feel so much better… I’m more active, able to jump on the furniture without assistance now, and able to groom myself more efficiently. Still have work to do, but am confident that I’ll make my goal of having a healthy weight.
If you take the time to get to know me, you’ll learn I’m surprisingly agile for my size as I am a large cat… long body and big paws… I enjoy playing with wand toys, exploring, and catching catnaps by a window or with my person. I’m looking for a forever home with someone who will commit to helping me maintain a good weight in order to keep my joints, skin and fur healthy. If you walk around your house a lot, I could follow you. Keeping you company would be my pleasure.
I have been given a clean bill of health with perfect senior bloodwork. Lots of cats younger than me can’t make that claim. I also had a dental cleaning and a tooth pulled while at the shelter so I’m in good shape.
I am a friendly, sweet, gentle guy. I love attention and being petted and will start purring as soon as you come up to me. I love to be brushed and am not afraid of visitors. Can you give me a quiet adult-only home with no dogs? That would make me so happy! I love humans, am okay with cats, but don’t care for dogs or kids. I spent time at the shelter in a community cat room and basically just ignored the other cats. My foster has a cat who hisses at me sometimes, but I just ignore that, too.
Normally Golden Oldies does not take cats from outside Monterey County but they had fosters available so I was able to get out of a cage and into a foster home! But now I’m longing for a permanent home.
If I sound like the guy for you, please consider adopting me!
I am neutered, up to date on rabies and FVRCP vaccines, microchipped, FIV/FELV negative and have had a complete blood panel done.
