It seems finishing the interior of our Cat Cottage has been peppered with delays, the latest being completion of the electrical work and a 3-day work stoppage due to illness. But we’re now making significant progress. The insulation, ceiling, and walls are installed. Interior painting is in progress. Next is the flooring, light fixtures and a walkway to the entry door.
That will take us to the next phase of the project—what we like to call the “cat enhancement” features. Picture a walkway transporting a cat from floor to high up, or a platform for a cat nap, or steps leading to a high window. . . Hey, we want our cat residents to be able to engage with the space, be comfortable, and feel safe. The plan is for this phase to be completed by our terrific volunteers.
And after that’s done, we’ll move on to enclosing the catio and adding some “cat enhancements” to that area as well.
